Rainy day....

wow... we are really here. i think it really hit us this morning when we woke up around 5:30 to a choir of birds singing right outside our window. thankfully they quieted down and we were able to sleep a little bit more. .....

until noon when we got up. we ate some granola bars and then decided to go find becca pettit who we had met the night before. she had given us directions to the apartment where she is living. we headed out the front gate and realized the "light" rain was coming down a little harder than we thought.

we headed back inside to work on our maps. becca was looking out for us and called her friend hayley to come find us. thank goodness.. otherwise we would have been very hungry later today.

after spending several hours just chatting about home and families as well as history about the city and culture, becca sent us on our way directing us toward the 24 hour store (it was shabbat and all other stores were closed). we stopped on our walk back to campus for which it started raining. jenni and i picked up some hummus, bread, lemons (to help the taste of water), pretzels, and a tomato. we couldn't read a thing on the labels.. but we could recognize some different brands because of the symbols. i never knew the importance that graphic designers have in "branding." anyway... we couldn't really read anything, but spent 38,27 or roughly $10.

we finished our hike back to campus, dried out, and started work on out maps that we didn't finish before we left.

it is about midnight here and we are going to finish chatting with our boyfriends and head to bed. tomorrow's adventures hold church, money exchange, and wandering the old city.

goodnight.

Anyway, loving the pics and updates, but curious as to whos feet are in the corresponding blue and green shoes. Confy enough to play vball in, Jenn? =) Praying for you guys!
